WARREN, (R. I.) July 11.

The Honorable General Assembly of this State held an extra session at Newport on Tuesday last, agreeable to notice from the Governor. Both houses being convened they proceeded to business, when the following gentlemen were appointed a committee of war, from the several counties in the state, viz.

Hon. Simeon Martin, Esq. Newport.
Christopher Fowler, Esq.
Thomas P. Ives, Esq. Providence.
Thomas Noyes, Esq. Washington.
John T. Child, Esq. Bristol.
Ephraim Bowen, Esq. Kent.

His Excellency the Governor was empowered to request of the President of the United States, arms, ammunition, camp equipage, &c. for the use of the militia when called into service. The returns having been nearly completed, it is expected the draft will be ordered to take place in the course of next week. A vote approving the conduct of the Governor in specially convening the Legislature at this momentous crisis, passed, with only James D'Wolf, Esq. and seven other dissenting voices. Thursday the 23d instant, was ordered to be observed as a day of Public Humiliation, Fasting and Prayer, throughout the State. Both Houses adjourned on Thursday evening last.
