The New-England Thanksgiving.
The anniversary of this Festival was celebrated in Cincinnati (Ohio) on the evening of the 4th ultimo, by a large number of natives of New-England, together with a number of invited guests. The festivities of the evening were closed by the following short and eloquent Address from Francis A. Blake, Esq. formerly of Worcester (Mass.) and son of the Hon. Francis Blake, deceased:

Gentlemen—To those of us who are natives of New-England, this evening has brought with it the dearest recollections of which the heart is susceptible: the land of our birth, the sports of our infancy, the joys and hopes that have brightened the days of our youth. Dear—yes, most dear, to every breast, is the remembrance of these scenes of happiness and peace.

This day, in the land of our fathers, has been consecrated to gratitude to heaven, and to the sacred communion of kindred souls.—Assembled around the board where religion and cheerfulness combine, their thanksgivings have ascended to the throne of eternal grace, warm from the shrine of rejoicing hearts. We trust that the eternal and beneficent Being who presides over their destinies and dispenses their blessings, has smiled on their offerings.

And can we doubt that we have this day participated in their remembrance and shared their hearts. Oh no! we live in their affections, though we are far away. Land of our nativity—friends of our souls—may the choicest blessings be showered upon you!

Those amongst us who were born in other climes—you are not absent from our hearts.—You also are far away from the scenes that have witnessed the joys of your younger days. You also have friends, who
"Still, lingering, haunt the greenest spot
On memory's waste."

Though you are severed from them by mountains and oceans, may the blessing we have invoked on our friends, be also on yours! Pilgrims from various climes, we and you rest in one common home. This night our souls have met in the holy communion of friendship and
