Great Fire at Albany!—Five Hundred Houses Destroyed—100 Canal Boats and Vessels Destroyed!—A Number of Lives Lost!

We could get no Telegraph Report from St. Louis this morning. A gentleman passenger through from Chicago informs us, that Albany, New York, has been visited by another terrible conflagration. It broke out on the afternoon of the 18th, in the lower part of the Eagle Hotel and Townsend House. From three to five hundred buildings were destroyed. A number of persons were killed, about One Hundred Canal Boats and other vessels were destroyed, together with bridges, piers, floats, &c.—Gal. Gaz.
