"By the mail of this day, will be transmitted the proceedings of the inhabitants of this town, and the address by them individually signed to the President, pledging ourselves to support the public councils and measures, for securing our national honor and independence.
"The personal attachment to, and confidence in, the President, is increased to an ardent affection,—and the whole administration stand as strong in New England as the western mountains. The French I believe are left friendless here."
