An Earnest Appeal
Many of our subscribers have been reading our paper for nearly two years, without once thinking of paying the poor Printer. We have worried along, and at any and every sacrifice, not only kept our paper up, but have been constantly improving it in every way possible except as to size, and at no small outlay of means. We are now perfecting our arrangements to commence the next volume on a Mammoth sheet, to do which we must buy a new Press of proper size, and this will cost money. We cannot look but to our friends who owe us, for the means to do this. Although each of our subscribers' bills are small individually, yet in the aggregate the amount is large, and we do hope our friends will willingly and cheerfully remit us the amounts due us immediately. In return we shall give you a full size paper, with double the reading matter of any of our contemporaries, and no increase of price.
We wish it distinctly understood that we do Job work in a better style, on a better article of paper and for less money than any office in this section. Examine our work --satisfaction given or no charge will be made. Persons living in adjoining counties can order their bills through our agents and receive them free of postage.
The little steamer D. A. Given passed down yesterday morning.
