Terrific Loss of Water Resulted from a Devilish Scheme Perpetrated in That City.

Mayor Naylor, After Arresting the Men Charged with Doing the Work, Opened Colorado Springs Reservoir.

Colorado Springs, Jan. 2.—After arresting the men charged with wrecking the water system, Major Naylor of the State Militia, stationed at Victor, opened the flood gates of the largest storage reservoir belonging to this city Friday morning, and drained it into Beaver Creek, through which it flowed to the Victor reservoirs. Earl Pollock, superintendent of the water system of Victor, was with the party and helped place the caretakers under arrest. In all, the city lost about 492,000,000 gallons of water, and as a result the city will suffer a water shortage as a consequence.
