SESSION OF LEGISLATURE
Resolutions asking that a special session of the legislature be called for the consideration of good roads legislation were received today by Governor West from the commercial club of Lebanon and Medford. Clubs in other portions of the state are adopting the good road slogan and falling into line and the governor has placed the resolutions received on file and then after they are all in he will decide whether he will comply with the request embodied in them.
Because of the defeat of the good roads legislation in the last legislature--defeated and made useless because of the endless amendments tagged onto each of the laws--there is a general dissatisfaction existing throughout the state and a general demand for legislation on the subject so that road work on an intelligent basis may be gone forward with.
Answering this demand the commercial clubs are now taking the subject up and launching a movement in favor of it and if it is great enough and of sufficient force a special session may be called by the governor.
