CHAMBER DINNER WELL RECEIVED
On Friday evening last, the members of the NWA Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors made a complete report of activities relative to legislature, the Nome breakwater, Red Cross, and recent taxation, effecting Alaska.
The guest speaker of the evening was Wesley Welch, president of the Walrus Club, who spoke on the activities and purpose of his group.
He stated in short that the group was a cross-section of the population of Nome and that the purpose was purely for the benefit of a better community.
Welch spoke elatedly over the success to date of his club with the sponsoring of the milk fund for supplying milk to the Nome school children and told of plans for future activities to benefit Nome.
It was moved to have a dinner meeting in the near future to hear all about the legislature from the returning Senators and Representatives of our Division.
