Full Text

KINGSTON (Jamaica) Nov. 17.

Yesterday morning, about six o'clock a duel was fought with pistols, on the race course near this town, between Mr. B-e-r. and Mr. I---, in which, at the third discharge, the latter was shot through the heart, and instantly expired without uttering a single word. Upon this lamented fatality it may be necessary to observe, that no wounds are so incurable as those of honour, though it must be confessed in the present instance, that the satisfaction taken was infinitely disproportioned to the measure of the insult, which was reciprocally given on both sides.
