NEW YORK, Oct. 31-Confirmation by the U. S. Senate of the appointment of Dr. Channing H. Tobias as a alternate delegate to the Paris session of the United Nations General Assembly was hailed this week as "extremely gratifying".
This appointment vindicates Dr. Tobias' long record of fighting for the extension of human rights to all peoples regardless of race, color or creed. The action of the Senate eloquently refutes the charges brought against Dr.. Tobias by Wesbrook Pegler in a series of recent columns.
The NAACP fight for the confirmation of Dr. Tobias was a fight against attempts to distort the record of a man who has devoted a lifetime to the advancement of his race, his church and his country.
