FLIGHTS OF PAA
With two planes forced to "over-
night" here after weather condi-
tions had interfered with the
scheduled flights to Seattle, Pan
American Airways last night found
rooms for 25 passengers, who had
expected to reach the states late
yesterday.
Passengers were quartered at the
Baranof Hotel, the Gastineau, Hotel
Juneau, Rev. Willis Booth's home,
George Smith's home, the Salva-
tion Army, and even St. Ann's hos-
pital.
One group, leaving Juneau Sat-
urday for Seattle, had been turned
back by a weather front at An-
ette Island. The plane on which
they were passengers had reached
Juneau past the 7:03 o'clock land-
ing deadline here and had to go
on to Whitehorse where crew and
passengers were "overnighted."
Last night they were again in
Juneau.
Now loaded with 45 passenger res-
ervations, the airline expects to
send at least two planes out this
afternoon. To discharge all reser-
vations today would take three
plane loads out of Juneau.
A total of 53 passengers, how-
ever, did travel by Pan American
Airways to and from this city dur-
ing the weekend.
