In Norfolk, on Wednesday last, there were 30 deaths, and on Thursday to noon 20. Mr. Ferguson, President of the Howard Association, is very ill. This caused a renewed panic. Dr. Capers and Miss Wallis (a nurse from New York) are also ill. Drs. Tunstall and Blow are extremely ill. Dr. Gordon is still living. Immense quantities of tar are burning in both cities. In Portsmouth there were 11 deaths up to noon on Thursday. The new cases in both cities are on the increase, and it is considered there is no abatement of the disease yet.
