NEW ATTEMPT TO BE MADE TO GET ISLANDER TREASURE.

PORTLAND.-The wreck of the steamer Islander, which refused to give up its golden treasure to the Wileys and which finally was abandoned by them, is to be attacked anew by the Curtis brothers, who are engaged in house moving in Portland and Seattle. Frank Curtis, spokesman for the firm, has announced the completion of arrangements with the Wileys for the use of their patented diving bell, the contract calling for an equal division of loot. The principal treasure sought is $3,000,000 in gold which is said to be in the ship's safes. The plan is to anchor a barge above the wreck, with lifting equipment, and to gradually move the wreckage into shallow water and ultimately to the beach.
