INDIANAPOLIS, Jan. 2.—(AP) In a statement given out from the headquarters of the United Mine Workers of America this morning, President Lewis declared that many operators are acting in bad faith in relation to the terms of the compromise agreement now in force by seeking to disrupt the locals of the national union by discharging union workmen. He declares that the operators are violating terms of the agreement and hoping that the unions will be provoked to open resistance to their efforts.
