The lawn party, supper and concert of St. Joseph's society, July 30, was a social and financial success. The day was ideal for the occasion. The evening program included solos by Mrs. Ralph Wescott, Joseph Hart, Corinne Thibedeau, Agnes Holz, Philip Veilleaux, Pauline McNamara, and Father Gorman, a mandolin solo by Stanley Grace, and a reading by Barbara Hopkins. An auction sale followed the program. The booths were artistically decorated, and with Japanese lanterns overhead, the evening scene was delightful. The ice-cream sold at the lawn party was donated by Mr. Thorsen, owner of Thorsen Farms Products Co. The proceeds of the event were approximately $1,000.
