Full Text

Extract of a Letter from Gibraltar, dated Nov. 13.

"Some Suspicion of an intended Mutiny and Sedition amongst the Soldiers, threw us lately into no small Consternation. Report said at first that more than seven hundred of them had joined in a Conspiracy to make themselves Masters of the Garrison: After the strictest Enquiries, it appeared that five or six drunken profligate Fellows had behaved and talked in a mutinous Manner, and attempted to set a Sedition on Foot. The Leader of those was instantly hanged in a most public and exemplary Manner; the rest punished severely, and all is now in good Order and Discipline."
