Correspondence.

New Orleans, 26th November, 1861.

Madame Leonidas Polk, Nashville, Tenn.:

Dear Madam—I have the pleasure to enclose you a certificate of deposit in the Citizen's Bank of Louisiana for five hundred dollars, ($500,) which was sent to me by Mr. Valcour Aime, of the Parish of St. James, Louisiana, with instruction to remit to you for the benefit of the Ladies' Hospital of Nashville.

It affords me great pleasure, Madam, to forward this liberal donation, which, with those already sent by Mr. V. Aime and others from this city, forwarded to your address by Mr. J. J. Hanna, I hope will enable the ladies of Nashville to carry out their benevolent and patriotic desire to relieve the sick and wounded of our armies.

I have the honor to be, dear Madam, your most obedient servant,
