PORTSMOUTH.

Last Wednesday, at His Majesty's Superior Court of Judicature and General Goal Delivery, held here by Adjournment, Mrs. Elizabeth Odiorne was tried for the supposed Murder of Mrs. Catherine Grant: and after a hearing of five Hours, the Jury retir'd for an Hour, and then return'd with a Verdict of Manslaughter only.

The King's Attorney, Wilseman Clagget, Esq; and William Parker, Esq; the Council for the Prisoner, were both habited in black Robes, the proper Dress of the Bar, and conducted their several Parts with such Firmness and Force of Argument as reflected great Honor on their Fidelity and Abilities.
