STING OF DEFEAT

OYSTER BAY, N. Y., Nov. 6. Colonel Roosevelt again took up the cudgels today and laid plans for the continuance of his fight. The colonel seemed much encouraged by the fact that the progressives had run second. But the sting of defeat was noticeable in the manner of the bull moose leader.

Roosevelt dictated letters and telegrams all morning. He announced that on Friday he would go to New York for work at 'The Outlook' office.

The colonel is preparing to continue his attack on Elihu Root and three lawyers who criticised his stand on the court of appeals question.
