It looks like winter has finally set in and after all the snow shoveling we have our area looking pretty good again.
Corp. "George" Nelson says he remembers the time when there were real snows at Ft. Snelling. He said that one time his company shoveled snow off Taylor Ave. for three days before they finally got down to a car that had stalled during the storm. The story has all the earmarks of a Paul Bunyan tale.
With six lettermen on our basketball team it appears as though we will finish up with a good percentage this season. The line-up is: Ware, center, Hanson and Snider, forwards, Swenson, Buzzell, Hurrle, Lang and Trost, guards. There are several new men who look promising. We won't make any promises but if we don't win we will certainly give the other teams a headache for about 40 minutes. The bowling team is coming along in great shape too, under the management of Sgt. Friedman. We won 3 from the Battery and dropped a couple each to the Tanks and Service Co.
Pfc. Carter, meat-cutter, says that we are driving away all his barber customers with our write-ups about how bad he is. We take it all back. He is worse than we could ever write about.
And that's that for to-day.
Auf Wiedersehen.
