SALES AND LIVE STOCK

Sam Rowe has 50 hogs and Mrs. Ewing 40, sold to Wm. Mundy for the last of this month at 7c.

T. J. Gentry of Monroe county has 68 hogs sold to a Perry buyer for delivery by July 10, at 7c.

Dr. J. G. Moore recently bought of the Dobyns estate three acres of unimproved land, near Woodlawn, for $1,700.

Gaither Perry bought 500 bushels of corn of H. Wilmhorst a few days ago, paying 74 cents a bushel, corn to be delivered.

Frank Osterhout bought at Sheriff's sale in partition in Mexico last Friday a brick building in Farber for $1,000, formerly owned by the Peterson Coal Co.

The Paris Appeal says that Rouse Bros., near Santa Fe, sold 46 head of 217-lb. hogs, Wednesday, at $7.10. Peak Bros. paid George Pitman 7 1/2 cts. for 13 46-lb. shoats.

The Perry Enterprise says that J. W. Trimble and Wm. Mundy shipped a load of hogs out of Perry Monday which were bought from the following parties: S.G. Powell 10, Wallace McCue 20, Rouse Bros. 46.

Dr. S. L. Dewhirst of Laddonia was here Friday on his way from his farm at Brown's Station with three fine Chester White pigs which he will put in keeping for exhibition at the Audrain County Fair.

Isaac Baskett sold his 160 acre farm, east of Mexico, last week to Cortez Edmonston for $5,000. Mr. Edmonston gets possession next September and this fall Mr. Baskett will move to St. Louis.

The Paris Appeal reports that Heitz Young, southwest of Paris, cleared $1500 on 30 mule colts he bought last fall. He sold them last Friday to Jim Jones, of Hallsville, at $125 per head. Ab Fountain refused $110 each for 10 of his bunch.

Williams & Sharp and J. C. Mundy have acquired 12 acres of unimproved land from Mrs. Sarah E. Little, in North Mexico, and will lay it off in lots and sell it at public auction. The electric railway runs down the west line of the land. It will make a nice place for new homes.

F. E. Wentz has sold his fine 360 acre farm, just southwest of Mexico, to Charles Dean for $28,800. Mr. Wentz gives possession next March. He says he likes Audrain county and thinks Mexico one of the nicest towns he was ever in. We hope Mr. Wentz will buy again, near the county seat, and stay with us.

Mrs. J. M. Atkinson lately bought the A. K. Yancey home, just east of the High School building. Mrs. Atkinson now owns the entire block of which her last purchase is a part and is grading and preparing the north side of the block for the erection of several fine new dwelling houses.

Ernest Koch, near Rush Hill, sold Charley Dean a fine span of mules this week for $375.

Our Thompson correspondent reports: H. T. Gant, our hustling stockman, bought the following stock lately: 16 hogs of C. H. Brown, average 250 lbs., at $7.25; 17 of J. A. Groves, average 255 lbs., at $7.25; 16 from Clara and Bledsoe, average 237 lbs., at $7.00, and 12 of C. L. Thomas, average 165 lbs., at $7.00; 7 of H. T Spurling at 7.00; 81 of Judge Barnes, to go first 10 days of June $7.25; 40 of J. F. Winn, first half of July, at $7.10; 35 from Dwight Miller, first half of July, at 7.00; 35 from Lee Miller, last half of July, $7.25; 31 of J. A. Groves, first part of Sept., $7.25.

Mr. Gant also shipped a car of hogs last Thursday night.
