Full Text

Religious Movements - Camp Meeting.

Ines. - We have despatched several correspondents to the camp meetings, now holding in the neighbourhood of New York, in order to collect religious intelligence, and to instruct and enlighten the age on the great awakening movement now spreading over the country. Yesterday we published our first dispatch from Sing Sing, and today we give the second, together with a letter from Stamford in Connecticut.

The Methodists, as a sect, have many excellent points, which have caused much good in the world. Wherever we find sincere religion, accompanied by good sense, morals and sagacity, we support them, no matter what sect they be - whether Mormons or Methodists. Every sect must be supported in its good points, and be gently cut up in its weak ones. That's the way to reform truly.
