Washington Monument.-We visited this work on Saturday afternoon, and were quite entertained with an examination of the several blocks, some of great beauty and appropriateness, and all significant of that veneration which is every where felt for the memory of Washington. The last block received was that from Baltimore, which arrived on Friday, in charge of Mr. Cyrus Gault, of the firm of Gault & Bro., and is expected to be presented soon with due formality by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore. It is one of the largest stones yet received, of Baltimore county granite, inscriptions in raised letters, and the centre represents a correct fac simile of the Battle Monument. Its cost was $4,500- rather an over charge it strikes us, for such a stone, fine as it is. Persons visiting the city, should not fail to view the works at the Monument.
