A Little Too Fast.—It strikes us that the Common Council were a little too fast in passing an ordinance
That the printed copies of all ordinances, acts and resolves of the Common Council of the city, whether of a public or private nature, which shall be published under the authority of the City, shall be admitted as sufficient evidence thereof in all courts of law in this Territory, and on all occasions whatever.
We have been under the impression hitherto that the power to say what shall and shall not "be admitted as sufficient evidence in all our courts of laws in this Territory," rested with the law-making power,—the Legislature— or at least, with the Courts. Are we right?
