Dr. O'Toole said last night, "we admit the sa. imputation." We believe we were incorrect in several particulars; especially in stating the amount of this foreign stock in the Manhattan so much below its true amount. As to titles, etiquette, and the names and style and residence of the British Peerage, we must confess that we, being poor democrats of the rank and file, are in much darkness and ignorance. But, like the good Vicar of Wakefield, who took so much pains to be correct about the name and style of Lady Caroline Whilhelmina Skeggs, "we like to be particular about such matters;" and, therefore, pray our correspondent to take our error in good part, to have pity upon our democratic ignorance, and to inform us with accuracy, precision, and in full, as to the matters wherein we have erred, touching his Right Honorable or Noble friend or friends.
N. Y. Eve. Star.
