Airplane Saves 24 Hours In Arrival Of European Mail

BOSTON. Sept. 4, (AP)—A seaplane with mail from the French liner Isle de France arrived at Quarantine Station at 3 p.m. It was catapulted from the steamer at 5:45 a.m. while the ship was 500 miles off Halifax and 900 miles from New York where the steamer was destined to arrive.

More than 24 hours is estimated to have been saved in transportation of the mail. Although handicapped most of the way by fog and a heavy rain the seaplane arrived without a mishap.
