Wrangell Plans Greeting To New Governor

(By Associated Press)

SEATTLE, Dec. 1—Dr. Ernest Gruening, en route from Washington to Alaska to become Governor of the Territory, was due here this morning. He was expected to discuss the proposed International Highway at a Chamber of Commerce luncheon.

Ketchikan Democrats plan to urge him to take the oath of office on arrival in Ketchikan.

The new Governor will sail north on the Yukon tomorrow. Wrangell is planning a welcoming committee to greet Dr. Gruening when the Yukon stops in that port and Juneau is planning a reception for next Tuesday.

Headed by President Frank S. Barnes, the Wrangell Chamber of Commerce, is planning to welcome Dr. Gruening when the Yukon arrives here. It is hoped the vessel will make Wrangell in the daylight hours so that a large representation will be on hand to extend good wishes to the incoming executive.
