A most brutal murder was committed at Detroit, Michigan, yesterday week. A mulatto, named Thomas Bingham, had a young squaw for a wife, at Buffalo, N. Y. During his absence, a colored fellow, named Henry Johnson, induced the wife of Bingham to leave with him for Detroit. Bingham went in pursuit and overtook them at Detroit, where he took his wife away from Johnson and commenced living with her there. During the night Johnson entered the sleeping apartment of Bingham, and cleft his head entirely open with two blows of an axe.— He was subsequently arrested.
