Full Text

THE FRESHEST.—The river continues full with a strong current and some drift wood is making its appearance. The water is so high at, and rushes so rapidly past, Georgetown that vessels cannot reach the wharves there. In consequence of apprehended danger at the draw of the bridge across the Potomac, the local trains between here and Washington that stopped running yesterday morning have not yet recommenced their trips, but the cars of the through trains are pulled over the dangerous place by ropes attached to locomotives which remain at either end of the draw. The trains from Harrisonburg do not arrive now until nine o'clock at night, in consequence of the injury mentioned yesterday to the bridge across the north branch of the Shenandoah River.
