LESS THAN MINIMUM
MAY BE PLANTED

Less than the minimum wheat
acreage may be seeded by Sheridan
county farmers who have signed
wheat reduction contracts under a
ruling issued this week by the Wheat
Section according to Harry Ehrmann-
traut, secretary of the county allot-
ment board.

The action came following requests
from allotment boards asking for
waivers.

The same ruling went into effect
last year but was made late in May
and as a result a big majority of the
farmers who preferred to seed less
than the minimum were forced to
comply. But few farmers were able
to take advantage of the waiver last
year.

The new ruling will enable
crop
growers to seed as little as they
deem fit, in the event the present
crop outlook does not show signs of
improvement and which is at present
discouraging through lack of mois-
ture, wind and soil blowing.

Rulings with waivers as in this
instance are made each year by the
Wheat Section.
