FUGITIVE DIES AFTER BEING SHOT 14 TIMES

MARQUETTE, Mich., June 25.

The death of George Natchoss, escaped convict from Marquette prison yesterday, ended a desperate fight for his liberty after he had been shot 14 times by a posse which had been hunting him since last Wednesday.

He died a few minutes after reaching a hospital.

The escaped convict was surrounded in a swamp near Perkins, between Maple Ridge and Escanaba. Members of the posse raked the underbrush with volley after volley of shots.

Natchoss was found lying on the ground with his revolver beside him.

Natchoss was sentenced from Ontonagon for life imprisonment on a charge of murder. He escaped a week ago Friday with George Blochas.

Blochus was captured the day after the store robbery when he was wounded.
