The Anniversary of Independence was commemorated at Bristol in a manner worthy of the occasion. The independent companies of Artillery, Cavalry and Infantry, paraded early in the day. A procession, composed of the militia and the citizens, formed at the Rev. Mr. Wight's, who had been elected as the orator for the day, and accompanied him to the Congregational Church. The Oration was happily commemorative of the principal incidents and events which led to our national independence, and met with merited applause. The military companies had a public dinner at the Academy, and a large number of respectable citizens dined at Mr. Bourn's inn. Hilarity and good humour presided at the feasts.
