SENATORIAL MANIFESTO.

The Republican Senators have sent to the President a manifesto unanimously signed, in which they imperiously demand not only a radical Cabinet, but that all our Commanders in the field be of that class who cordially endorse the war policy of the Administration. If we have come to that pass that Democrats can no longer command our forces, it is time the country knew it. If they are unfit to command they are unfit to serve in the ranks. If the Republican party desire to prosecute the war alone and to actually drive from the field the men who have so gallantly stood by our flag in all the engagements of the war, and to substitute in their stead an army of "Americans of African descent," they certainly have the power to make the experiment. Let the Democratic officers be dismissed, and let the rank and file of the same party follow them, and the result will speedily test the wisdom of the proceeding.
