DEPUTY SHERIFF HELD
TO ANSWER ON CHARGE
OF IMPORTING LIQUOR

NOGALES, Ariz., Nov. 19.—Deputy Sheriff A. W. Palmer of Santa Cruz county, was held to answer to the federal court, Tucson, yesterday following his arraignment here before W. A. O'Connor, United States commissioner, on charge of having illegally transported a pint of liquor from Mexico to the United States.

The offense is alleged to have occurred while Palmer was a member of the posse which was in pursuit of the slayers of Postmaster and Mrs. Frank Pearson at Ruby several weeks ago.
