Full Text
AN ABORIGINAL GONE.—Mr. E. W. Geer of Fairfield, a short time since, came upon the track of a Wolf. He soon overtook the maker of tracks, and, after following him three or four days, killed him in the town of Sheldon. It was a grey wolf, measuring six feet and six inches from tip to tip, and weighing seventy-three pounds. He was a beggarly looking fellow, and had long trusted himself to the "cold, unfriendly charity of the world," as he was very thin in flesh. Nature had not been very bounteous to him, yet he was very "bountiful" to his captor.—St. Albans Messenger.
