Full Text
The election returns of Ramsey County were canvassed by the Register of Deeds and two Justices of the Peace, as required by law, on Saturday, and the following proves to be the result on County Treasurer:
Pierse 576
Roberts 564
Thus it will be seen, Pierse is elected by twelve majority over Roberts. This is a very good beginning toward breaking up the old rule of incompetency in the County offices. The charm is broken at length, and we are inclined to think it will stay broken.
