On Monday last Capt Lacey, of the sloop Betsy, belonging to this port, arrived here from Cape Henlopen. On the 7th instant, he sailed from this for Newbern, North Carolina; but on the 12th being in sight of Cape Henlopen, George Buchannan, his Mate, James Herdman, James Henderson, and Peter M'Callum, his mariners, rose upon him and took possession of the sloop, obliging him to go on board the sloop's boat, when they put him ashore about ten or twelve miles to the southward of Cape Henlopen, and immediately returned and went off with the sloop.
