Full Text

A SAD ACCIDENT. On Friday afternoon of last week, just after a heavy shower, while three boys were standing in the ditch recently made at the lower end of Elm street, for a common sewer, watching the water as it flowed through the arch, the earth fell upon them, entirely covering two of them and partially burying the other. When the dirt was removed, one of the boys, a son of Mrs. Clark, who resides at No. 76 Elm street—was entirely lifeless. All efforts were made to resuscitate him, but they proved ineffectual. His age was about 10 years. The other two boys were brothers, one about 9 and the other 11 years—sons of Dea. Osgood Page, who resides on Hanover street. The youngest escaped without material injury, the other was seriously hurt, but is now in a fair way to recover.—Manchester American.
