PHILADELPHIA, October 25.

On Sunday last the Rev. Mr. Whitefield preached an excellent sermon at St. Paul's Church, for the benefit of the hospital of this city, from Rom. 7. 4 "Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ, that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God." And at the same time took a very affectionate leave of the people. The collection amounted to the sum of one hundred & seventy pounds, twelve shillings and nine pence. Next day he set out on his journey for Georgia.
