'LINDY' ENJOYS BURLESQUE SKIT BY NEWSPAPERMEN
DEL MONTE, Calif., Mar. 21.- (U.P.) His sleep cut short by thorough enjoyment of a skit produced by newspapermen to show how difficult it sometimes is to 'cover' his activities, Colonel Charles A. Lindbergh hurried his packing this morning preparatory to departure for San Francisco. Lindbergh seemed more at ease in the presence of newspapermen than at any time in recent months when they put on the burlesque on 'interviewing Lindbergh' in his presence. The scribes were celebrating the end of a tenseness that had gripped them for several weeks while Colonel Lindbergh has been engaged in more or less hazardous glider flights near here. He failed to make the distance flight he had hoped to complete because of adverse weather conditions and poor winds. Early Wednesday night he crated his gliders and shipped them to San Diego, announcing he had abandoned the tests for the present. After going to San Francisco for several days of business he will fly to Los Angeles.
