Silverdale Man Back
From Philippine Duty

CLARK AFB—Corporal Clifton F. Lovitt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lovitt, of Silverdale, North Carolina, who has just completed an overseas tour of duty with U.S. Air Force in the Philippines, is returning for reassignment to the Zone of Interior aboard the USNS General Darby.

During his stay in the Philippines, Cpl. Lovitt was assigned with the 18th Installations Squadron at historic Clark Air Force Base largest American military installation in the Far East, located sixty miles north of the famous but still war-torn Manila, the capital city.

In the service since July 18, 1947, Cpl. Lovitt departed for the Islands in May 24, 1948 aboard the U. S. Army Transport General Collins.

Upon his arrival in San Francisco, California, Cpl. Lovitt will proceed to the 234th Air Force Overseas Replacement Depot for further reassignment orders.
