John F. Langdon, a farmer living near the village of Florence in Pittsford, has just received $40 from the United States treasury to replace two twenty dollar bills which were destroyed in a peculiar way. Recently Mr. Langdon lost an envelope containing two twenty dollar bills, a ten and two fives. Later he found the three smaller bills in a pen where a cosset sheep was kept. Suspecting that the cosset had eaten the others he killed the animal and recovered enough pieces to prove that both bills had been eaten.
