of residents of Juneau, cables Miss
Christina Halvorsen, proprietor of
the Halvorsen women's wear store
here, who is on a buying trip to
New York and other cities in the
East. In a message to Claud
Helgesen, who has charge of Hal-
vorsen's in the absence of the
owner, she says that prices of fem-
inine apparel, millinery and ac-
cessories in the Eastern markets
are extremely low and that the
bargains which she has obtained
on her purchases will be passed on
to her customers.
Miss Halvorsen has encountered
some very hot weather on her
present trip. During her train
journey across the Middle West,
the heat was the worst it has
been in that section in years and
while she has been in the East
it has been
experiencing torrid
temperatures.
She sends word that she will
be "glad to be back in Juneau."
