We learn from Amsterdam that proper persons are appointed, and are now actually employed in settling the affairs of the house of Messrs. Clifford and Son, who failed some time ago. It appears that the passive debts of that house amount to 1,200,000 florins, and the active debts to no more than a quarter of that sum, 300,000 florins. It is said that the creditors have been offered 25 per cent. for their debts, but that they have refused to accept it.
