The lodge is named after William R. Durbin, a former BRT local chairman in Cumberland. It will be an exclusive Western Maryland and Cumberland and Pennsylvania lodge. All members of these two systems, formerly with Lodge 440 in Cumberland, Md. were transferred to the new lodge.

Officers of 628 are: A. H. Mace, president; E. W. Justice, vice-president; T. C. Dunlap, secretary; W. R. Rice, treasurer; W. F. Rice, agent official publication; E. W. Duer, legislative representative; G. E. Justice, alternate.

Mace appointed the following to office: A. B. Hunter, conductor; G. E. Martin, chaplain; G. H. Cross, warden; J. A. Shipe, inner guard; J. A. Turano, outer guard.

J. W. Allen, field supervisor, and J. M. Houchins, state representative of West Virginia, addressed the membership.

The lodge will meet at Ridgeley Volunteer Fire Hall on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, at 7:30 p. m.

A large turnout was welcomed from Lodges in Elkins, W. Va.; Keyser, W. Va.; Hagerstown, Md.; Baltimore, Md. and Cumberland.

Refreshment committee consisted of T. P. Cowan, G. E. Justice and R. E. Leighty.
