United States senators elected this week: Republican Wm. P. Frye of Maine re-elected; Democrats Eli Saulsbury of Delaware, Isham G. Harris of Tennessee, M. W. Ransom of North Carolina, Garland of Missouri, all re-elections. In Minnesota, Senator Windom will be re-elected despite opposition preventing choice so far. In Massachusetts, Senator Hoar faces formidable opposition with even chances against Ex-Governor Long and W. W. Crapo also in race. In Michigan, Senator Ferry faces similar opposition but may win. In Illinois, Gov. Cullom (Republican) will succeed Davis.
