United States senators have been elected this week as follows: Republican- Wm. P. Frye of Maine; democratic- Eli Saulsbury of Delaware, Isham G. Harris of Tennessee, M. W. Ransom of North Carolina, Garland of Missouri; all re-elections. In Minnesota Senator Windom will be re-elected, though the opposition has so far prevented a choice. In Massachusetts Senator Hoar finds formidable opposition, and chances lie even between him and Ex-Governor Long, with W. W. Crapo also well in the race. In Michigan Senator Ferry has a like row to hoe--but may win. In Illinois Gov. Cullom, republican, will succeed Davis, who is nothing.
