Full Text

We have the Indiana law of negroes and mulattoes. All brought into that territory under 15 years, are to serve, the male, till 35 years of age, and the females till 28 years of age. All over that age, are to serve by agreement, and if the term carries them above 45 years of age, then the master is to give bond that such do not become chargeable to the county. All children born after the law, are to serve till 25, or 28 years of age, and are to serve under the law of apprentices, to be removed if ill treated. Every thing relating to this interesting concern deserves to be mentioned and examined.—Salem Register
