INDIANA WRECK KILLS SEVEN

Twenty Injured in Head-On Collision When Block Signal Failed.

MT. VERNON, Ind., Dec. 29.--Seven persons are known to have been killed and twenty injured as a result of a head-on collision between two trains on the Baltimore and Ohio road one mile east of here late today.

All of the dead were members of the crew. One of the trains carried many soldiers, but as far as is known none was injured.

Both engines were thrown from the track and fell down a steep embankment.

The failure of the block signal to work was the cause of the wreck.
