The Tribune of Wednesday says that a bill has been introduced into the State Senate of Vermont, which will, if passed, "effectually put a stop, so far as Vermont is concerned, to the attempts of Northern visitors to play the slaveholder within the limits of that State."
That is brave and bold. But for Heaven's sake be quick! Let Greeley howl, and Parker sneer, and Beecher cock his reverend rifle! Let the associations be formed and the funds be raised and the missionaries be hired, and the emigrants banded to fill up the benighted valleys of Vermont, and vote down the "border ruffians" who are trying to introduce slavery into that State. For nearly 70 years Vermont has been left unguarded against the invaders. Come to her aid my brethren! Howl, shriek, pray, preach, and oh do not, do not forget to subscribe!—Albany Argus.
