Extract of a letter from St. Jago de Cuba, dated some time last week.

"The Spanish merchant brig Chumco, from Cadiz bound to La Vera Cruz, which vessel had lain in this harbor about two months, sailed for the Moro two days ago, and yesterday morning was consumed by fire while lying there. How the accident happened I cannot say, but her cargo was supposed to be worth from 80 to 100,000. I have heard that she was insured in London. The Spanish brig of war Hercules and a two topsail schooner has arrived here from Curacoa, the former in distress."
